Arsenal prepare for HUGE windfall with Thomas Partey set to join Saudi revolution

Arsenal could be the latest beneficiaries of Saudi Arabia’s lucrative pursuit of Europe’s top stars with Thomas Partey set to depart the Emirates in a €40 million deal.

The Gunners have been open to bids for Partey as they look to raise funds to finance their summer business despite the 30-year-old being an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s side.

Partey is entering the last two years of his contract and no talks over an extension have manifested at Arsenal, with the club believed to be unconvinced by his fitness record, and efforts to sign a younger replacement are already underway.

Reporter Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Saudi Pro League clubs are ‘prepared’ to pay €40m in installments for Partey but the Ghanian has yet to make a decision on his future, having also had approaches from Europe.

Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Cheslea’s Kai Havertz and a move for Declan Rice will likely progress once Partey’s future is clarified, with West Ham having rejected a second bid in excess of €90m for the England international.

Monaco have also been linked with a move for Partey as Arsenal look to revamp their midfield, with Granit Xhaka also looking likely to leave the Emirates this summer.

What does the summer hold for Arsenal?

Arsenal are looking to back Arteta after their impressive campaign last season which saw the Gunners narrowly miss out on the Premier League title despite being on top for the majority of the season.

The club have successfully extended the contracts of their star players such as Bukayo Saka and William Saliba and the focus is now on securing their top targets such as Rice and Havertz.

Ajax defender Jurrien Timber is also believed to be close to a move to Arsenal, with personal terms thought to have been agreed ahead of a €40m deal.

However, a lot of Arsenal’s business could come down to money raised from sales, with Partey, Xhaka and Emile Smith-Rowe all candidates to be cashed in on.

Kieran Tierney was also believed to be working towards an exit but reports have now suggested that he could remain with the club and potentially even extend his contract despite interest from Newcastle and Aston Villa.
