The EIGHT Chelsea players with 12 months left on their contract
Chelsea are in a difficult situation with a number of their first-team squad, as eight senior players will see their contracts expire in 2024.
This puts Chelsea in a tricky position where they must decide whether to sell some important stars or risk losing them on a free transfer.
Chelsea’s club policy is pretty straightforward. All players who have a reasonable transfer value will be sold in the summer of 2023 if they do not sign a new contract before the end of the transfer window.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also set to move to AC Milan for a fee of around €16m with add-ons. Chelsea were happy to let the 27-year-old go as he is low down the midfield pecking order.
Across the city of Milan, Cesar Azpilicueta has agreed to join Inter Milan on a free transfer. Although he still has a year left on his Chelsea contract, the club have agreed to terminate his deal so he can sign a two-year-contract at San Siro. Azpilicueta replaces Milan Skriniar, who is joining PSG on a Bosman transfer.
Mason Mount could follow Kovacic, Loftus-Cheek and Azpilicueta out of the exit door. Chelsea have been in negotiations to sell him to Manchester United for some time now, with the Red Devils having two bids rejected already. Chelsea are demanding £65m in order to sell.
Christian Pulisic is also available for sale this summer. Pulisic is not in Chelsea’s plans and also wants to leave in order to gain first-team football. There are no concrete offers for him yet but there is interest from Crystal Palace, Milan and Juventus.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will almost certainly leave this summer a year before expiry, with his deal likely to be rescinded just like Azpilicueta.
Thiago Silva is now 38 but has insisted he will see out his contract at Chelsea until expiry in 2024. The Blues are happy for this given he is still playing at a high level.
Abdul-Rahman Baba’s Chelsea career will finally end at the end of next season after nine years of loans.
