Romelu Lukaku and Kalidou Koulibaly are among the players with whom Chelsea could entice Inter Milan in an attempt to sign goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The Blues have been strongly linked with a move for the 27-year-old, who enjoyed a superb first season with Inter – helping them reach the Champions League final.

And it seems that the two-time European champions are serious about their pursuit of the ex-Ajax custodian.

According to the Express, Lukaku, Koulibaly, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Trevoh Chalobah are all strong candidates to be considered as part of a deal for Onana – who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €17.6m (around £15m).

Lukaku spent the 2022/23 campaign back on loan at Inter after his thoroughly underwhelming return to Chelsea – although the Belgian striker’s future would appear to remain very much uncertain, amid talk of a switch to the Saudi Pro League.

Koulibaly, meanwhile, only joined the Blues from Napoli last summer – but the Senegalese centre-half hasn’t exactly set the world alight in his time at Stamford Bridge.

As for Chalobah and Loftus-Cheek – the latter of whom has also been linked with Inter’s arch-rivals, AC Milan – neither is likely to fetch a hefty transfer fee, but they might make for useful makeweights.

Onana's ok at Inter

Speaking after Inter’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in last Saturday’s Champions League final in Istanbul, Onana stressed how content he is with the Nerazzurri – while seeming to conceded that the decision on any transfer

ultimately rests with them.

The former Cameroon international said: “I’m available for Inter: they decide and I will accept what they want. I’m happy at Inter.”

Despite the steady churn of rumours, Chelsea may not even move for a new ‘keeper at all this summer: Sky Sports claim that, perhaps surprisingly, new head coach Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to go with Kepa Arrizabalaga as his number one.
