Frustrated Ten Hag told he has NO MONEY to spend

Erik ten Hag’s patience is being pushed to the limit as the Glazers will not sanction any spending until the takeover situation is resolved.

The Dutchman is at his wits end with the ongoing process in which the owners are dragging on the saga with no end in sight, reports the Mirror. It claims that no spending will be sanctioned until the takeover issue is resolved.

Targets that the Man Utd boss identified months ago are still not signed and sealed and the situation is turning sour for the club ahead of next season.

Ten Hag spoke after Man Utd beat Chelsea 4-1 at Old Trafford on May 25 to secure a Champions League spot, saying that the Red Devils require better players to improve.

“We need more," said Ten Hag. “Now we are far away, so we have a lot of work to do. We've made progress, but we need better players if we want to compete for the highest. But I don't have so much patience, that is one of my mistakes.”

But the takeover saga has seen any fresh deals paused - with Ten Hag getting frustrated over matters.

It has been reported that he had a meeting with technical director Darren Fletcher back in early spring to identify targets but so far none have come into the fold.

Indeed, the Glazers are refusing to sanction spending until the takeover situation is over and another party is in the hot seat.

Their rivals Manchester City have signed Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea, Liverpool have bought Alexis MacAllister and Arsenal are bidding for West Ham captain Declan Rice.

Ten Hag wants at least three players to strengthen his squad – a striker, midfielder and goalkeeper - and at the moment his hands are tied.
