West Ham are looking at a number of key targets for summer transfers including several midfielders who could potentially replace Declan Rice.

FootballTransfers can reveal that the midfielders in question are Southampton's James Ward-Prowse, Chelsea's Conor Gallagher and Manchester United's Scott McTominay.

David Moyes is looking at the trio with interest ahead of the window opening, but with Ward-Prowse we understand that West Ham are very keen indeed and a bid could likely go in for the Saints star over the summer.

There is also an idea of making a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who spent time on loan at Nottingham Forest last season. It is thought that winning the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday will go a long way toward giving the club that extra pull to attract the players.

Moyes is set to be given a bigger hand in recruitment, FootballTransfers also hears. The Scotsman has been linked with the Celtic job, but the Hammers are now confident that he is the man who can help them succeed down the line and into next season.

Rice to Arsenal and building for the future

It comes after our story that Declan Rice has agreed to terms with multiple clubs. FootballTransfers’ brought you an exclusive last week that the West Ham captain had agreed to a deal over wages with Arsenal, but we have been told that the Gunners are not the only club that the West Ham captain has given the nod to.

EXCLUSIVE: Rice AGREES personal terms with MULTIPLE clubs as West Ham play transfer hardball

West Ham's biggest concern is ensuring that they have a good enough side next season and can challenge for the European places - something that the departure of Rice would complicate.

As we reported earlier today, it is thought that they don’t actually need the money they are asking for in the Rice negotiations. They are in a good spot financially due to an influx of cash paid into the club that was owed to them, as well as investment from their owners.

We are also told that West Ham will take players plus cash for Rice if a potential suitor is not able to pay the full amount.
