Jurgen Klopp in love with Chelsea wonderkid
Jurgen Klopp is said to ‘love’ Chelsea defender Levi Colwill, however there is an acceptance that Liverpool would not be able to sign him despite the club’s admiration for the youngster.
Colwill is expected to be a part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side for the upcoming campaign after impressing while on loan at Brighton last season, where he played 17 times in the Premier League.
There had been doubts over Colwill’s future under the previous management, with the 20-year-old having been reluctant to commit his future to Chelsea due to a fear of not breaking into the first team.

However, Pochettino is understood to highly rate Colwill and wants to keep the centre-back around for the long-term, with the player said to be enthused at the new Chelsea manager’s track record of developing youngsters.
Chelsea’s stance over Colwill has been made clear this summer, with Brighton having seen bids in excess of £30 million rejected, and Liverpool are also said to be keen on the England under-21 international.
Speaking to Liverpool fanpage Empire of the Kop, Reds journalist Neil Jones said: “I think Levi Colwill is one they love, I don’t think there’s any chance they’re going to get him but I think they love him, there’s no question about that, as a player.”
What are Liverpool and Chelsea’s plans for the transfer window?
Things have gone somewhat quiet at Liverpool since they confirmed the £35m signing of Alexis Mac Allister at the start of June, with Klopp’s side aiming to manage their resources effectively as they look to bounce back from a disappointing season.
Liverpool are still in the market for another midfielder having seen Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner all leave the club on free transfers this summer.

The Reds also would like to sign a defender but a lot could depend on any further outgoings, with Fabio Carvalho said to be in talks over a loan move to RB Leipzig, while the club are assessing potential incomings.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have been working on their priority of shrinking their bloated squad size, with the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and N’Golo Kante having already left the club, while Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy will also finalise their exits soon.
The Blues have agreed a deal to sign Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal and they also want to bring in Moises Caicedo from Brighton as their rebuild under Pochettino starts to take shape.
