'Daylight f***ing robbery' - Liverpool signing gets glowing report from former teammate
Former Brighton striker Glenn Murray has given a glowing report of new Liverpool man Alexis Mac Allister.
The Argentine midfielder was snapped up by the Reds in a deal worth just €42 million, which is seen by many as one of the bargain buys of this still-young summer. Indeed, this belief is shared by Murray, who called it "daylight f***ing robbery."
A Brighton player across two permanent stints, the now-retired former striker spoke to journalist Neil Jones for his Covering Liverpool Substack and he gave a glowing report of his ex-teammate.

Though the two didn't spend an awful lot of time together, with Mac Allister initially returning to his native Argentina on loan with Argentinos Juniors and then Boca Juniors, while Murray spent time at Watford before joining Nottingham Forest in 2021, the 24-year-old World Cup winner made a good impression on Murray.
What did Murray say?
“He’s made of the right stuff,” Murray told Jones. “He’s a smart footballer, for sure, but he’s smart away from the pitch too, and that’s key."
"He’s the kind of player that, say you got slapped 5-0, you could put him up in front of the cameras and be sure he’d say the right things and strike the right tone. He’s just got that way about him."
As for his new boss Jurgen Klopp, the 39-year-old tipped Mac Allister to get along with him well: “He knows the game, he knows how to handle situations, handle pressure, and I think Jurgen Klopp will absolutely love him, the way both Graham Potter and Roberto De Zerbi did.”

Mac Allister racked up 10 goals and two assists in the Premier League as Brighton qualified for Europe last season. At Liverpool, he is the first of what will likely be several midfield arrivals, with Klopp keen to freshen up his centre of a park in a bid to get back to challenging for the title again after a disappointing fifth-placed finish.
