Man Utd TOUGHEN UP over Mount as Ten Hag threatens Chelsea with DOUBLE BLOW
Manchester United are ready to deal a significant double blow to Chelsea in the transfer market, with the Blues holding fast over their valuation of Mason Mount.
Although FootballTransfers understands that a deal for Mount should be completed imminently, this requires Chelsea to shift their position and accept a lower bid from Man Utd than they might have wished.
Initially, the Blues valued the England captain around the £80 million mark, but United are hopeful a deal can be done for more like £60m.

Man Utd to switch attention to Caicedo?
In order to hasten Chelsea’s decision, Erik ten Hag’s side are threatening the Stamford Bridge side in the transfer market. Specifically, they are ready to launch a sensational move for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, who is the player that Mauricio Pochettino’s side have earmarked to arrive in place of Mount.
Although the Ecuador international is expected to cost in the region of £100m, The Guardian reports that Man Utd are seriously considering the deal because they believe Chelsea are not charging a fair fee for the England star.
If United were to take this approach, it would deal an enormous double blow to Chelsea.
Man Utd Transfer News Today: Caicedo INTEREST, Onana TALKS and Mason Greenwood LATEST
Firstly, the Blues would not sign their chief summer transfer priority, which would be an embarrassing bloody nose for the club, while secondly, they would likely be forced to retain Mount, a player who is out of contract next summer. He could leave as a free agent at that point, so Chelsea may be forced to accept a deal significantly lower than the price they are quoting Man Utd.
Given the problems that Man Utd are having signing anyone at present due to the stalling takeover, it is likely that they are simply using the more expensive Caicedo as a threat to their Premier League rivals to secure a deal at a reasonable price.
