Marco Asensio rejects TWO Premier League giants
Marco Asensio spurned the advances of two Premier League giants to sign for PSG on a free transfer from Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.
Asensio is one of the highest-profile players available on a free transfer this summer, the Spain winger's contract at Real Madrid expiring at the end of June.
And Paris Saint-Germain appear to have won the race for his signature, with the club set to announce his acquisition - alongside that of Martin Skriniar from Inter Milan and Manuel Ugarte from Sporting CP - imminently.

The winger has agreed terms on a four-year deal, ostensibly as a replacement for Lionel Messi, who has left for David Beckham's Inter Miami, but he could easily have been plying his trade in the Premier League instead.

Asensio 'had proposals'
"Marco Asensio had proposals from Chelsea, Liverpool and Aston Villa on the table, but he has finally opted for PSG," report Spanish sports daily, AS. "[PSG sporting director] Luis Campos has been key in convincing him."
With Messi gone and Neymar potentially following the Argentine out of the Parc des Princes exit, Asensio could be the primary provider for PSG talisman Kylian Mbappe next season - assuming, of course, Real don't now move for him.

It is a role Madrid simply couldn't guarantee Asensio, with Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Federico Valverde blocking his path to first-team minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Asensio was restricted to just 15 starts in La Liga this season, although chipped in with a respectable nine goals and six assists. He has 61 and 32 in each column from 286 appearances in all competitions for Madrid since joining from Real Mallorca in 2014.
Asensio is valued at €22.8 million by FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm, and had a highest ETV of €38.9m, making PSG's acquisition of the player shrewd financial business indeed.
