Man Utd make THIRD Mount bid as Fabrizio Romano says transfer is CLOSE

Man Utd have made a third bid for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, but it has been rejected by the Blues according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils are desperately trying to make England star Mount their first signing of the summer as Erik ten Hag looks to improve his first-team squad.
And according to Romano it appears the saga may be nearing a conclusion after the latest bid from Old Trafford.
Earlier this week United had put in a second bid for Mount - upping their proposal from £40m to £50m. On Friday they were in again, but again it was the same result as Chelsea said no.

Romano claims Chelsea responded late on Friday with a counter proposal - suggesting United would pay £58m plus a further £7m in add-ons.
The Blues are also keen to wrap up the transfer and have even offered to meet Man Utd officials in person this week to get a deal across the line. Personal terms between the Red Devils and Mount are already agreed.
Chelsea originally wanted £80m for Mount, but that was always unlikely for a player who will be out of contract in the summer of 2024. He has said he will not renew that deal, so a sale is the only real option.
Reports also suggest Man Utd have forced the issue by threatening to switch their attentions to Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo. That would be worrying for Chelsea - who have the Ecuadorian as their main summer transfer target.
