Barcelona eye Bruno Guimaraes move but Newcastle star makes priority clear
Bruno Guimaraes' priority is to renew his contract with Newcastle and the expectation is that a deal will be wrapped soon, FootballTransfers can confirm.
We hear that Barcelona want the midfielder for when their finances are in check but that he thoroughly enjoys his time in the Premier League in the northeast. Paris Saint-Germain are said to be keen, too, but a move for the Brazilian is not feasible right now.

Newcastle are aware of the interest and the club's board wants to reward the former Lyon star a significant wage increase.
His current contract is set to expire in 2026.

Bruno wanted by elite sides
Real Madrid and Liverpool have been linked with Bruno but FootballTransfers has been unable to verify those claims.
Guimaraes recently spoke on his future - and how much affection he has for the Magpies.
“I would say I still have two years and a half here on my contract but as I’ve said before, I would like to make history here,” said Newcastle’s No. 39. “I can’t think about my contract. I still have two years and a half, I can see it, but I would like to keep it going here. We have been doing something special and I want to keep going."
Guimaraes has been one of the key members of Newcastle’s positive trajectory since joining in January 2022.
The club have a strict wage structure in place to ensure that the squad remain happy and content, but there is the idea that this may have to be tested given the level of interest in Guimaraes and the number of elite sides who are looking at him.
