Romano reveals ‘incredible but true’ price for transfer bargain of the summer
Fabrizio Romano has built a reputation over the years as one of the most respected sources of football transfer news, and he has revealed a player who could be the bargain of the summer.
The Italian has tipped Fenerbahce sensation Arda Guler to be a player to watch in the transfer market, with the 18-year-old described as “an incredible opportunity” because of a clause that has become active in his contract.
Among the clubs who have been linked with Guler in recent weeks are Barcelona, Arsenal, PSG, Newcastle, Ajax and Napoli – and these clubs will be particularly interested to hear that the teenager is available for just €17.5 million.

Romano has revealed that because Guler has played more than 1,500 minutes for Fenerbahce this season, the clause in his contract has become active. It is an opportunity that is “really impressive”, according to the journalist.
He went on to explain that clubs from France, the Netherlands and Spain are among those taking part in negotiations, though it is notable that he did not mention the Premier League in this.
According to Romano, nothing is decided on the player’s side. Instead, he wants to take his time over this decision and discuss the move with his family.

How good is Arda Guler?
Guler, who is left footed and has drawn comparisons with Lionel Messi, typically plays as an attacking midfielder, with the teenager capable of featuring in the centre or wide on the right, which is the role he has typically been given at Fenerbahce.
Data analytics experts SciSports reveal that he has performed excellently offensively this season, but particularly in terms of his positioning, passing and finishing, making him one of the brightest young talents in the world.
Although given an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of just €8.3m, this figure will rise rapidly with more first-team exposure should he continue to play at the standard he has shown thus far in his young career.
