Tottenham eye REVENGE hijack for Chelsea transfer target
Tottenham Hotspur are set to re-ignite their interest in Montpellier forward Sepe Elye Wahi as Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Harry Kane continues.
Kane, 30, remains Bayern’s number one transfer target and Thomas Tuchel is aiming to complete a deal for the England international before Spurs’ next pre-season game on 6 August.
That is according to Christian Falk, who has reported that Bayern hope that Kane has already played his last game for Tottenham and have set their sights on landing him before the Bundesliga campaign kicks off.

With Kane’s future at Spurs still unknown, Ange Postecoglou’s side are reportedly looking to hijack Chelsea’s deal to sign France U21 star Elye Wahi.
The Montpellier forward is the latest wonderkid to be targeted by the Blues recruitment team, and despite the fact he’s likely to be loaned to their parent club Strasbourg next season, Elye Wahi wants to join Chelsea “as quickly as possible,” according to L’Equipe.
The 20-year-old notched 19 goals and six assists in 33 Ligue 1 appearances last season, which has caught the attention of multiple clubs across Europe.

One such club is Tottenham, whose interest in Wahi dates back to the start of 2023, as reported by Foot Mercato.
However, in light of Kane’s potential exit, Daniel Levy is ready to step up the club’s pursuit of Wahi. French outlet Midi Libre have now reported that Montpellier are expecting to receive a bid from Tottenham very shortly after they turned down Chelsea’s initial offer.
After the Blues’ first bid, Montpellier president Laurent Nicollin admitted “the amount proposed did not live up to our expectations.”
Tottenham to hijack Chelsea’s Wahi deal?
Following Chelsea’s failed first proposal, Tottenham are eyeing up the possibility of a hijack as they open their eyes to the potential of Kane leaving.
Chelsea famously hijacked Spurs for Willian in 2013, with the Brazilian undergoing his medical at Tottenham before leaving to sign for Chelsea. Spurs could be set to give the Blues a taste of their own medicine.
