CONFIRMED: Chelsea consider Matheus Franca signing
Flamengo are encouraging Chelsea to make a proposal for Matheus Franca but Chelsea are talking to a number of players to fulfil that position.
We are told that the Brazilian club are prepared to let the 19-year-old depart this summer window if a club meets their asking price of €25million with add-ons.
Chelsea have an interest in Franca and the player is willing to join the West London side but it’s not thought that a deal will be made anytime soon and talks will continue for a while yet.

Franca is of interest to Chelsea and the foundations are in place for a move but we are informed that the Blues will wait until a bit further in the window to make a deal.
It remains to be seen whether they do meet Flamengo’s valuation - the South American club’s demand of certain add-ons could mean it will take a while to find an agreement.
The club’s co-owner Todd Boehly has made it his mission to realise a 'Vision 2030' at Stamford Bridge, whereby the club recruit the best young talent in the world.
Franca setting Brazil alight
Franca has been used as a striker since Jorge Sampaoli took charge of Flamengo in April, but he has played primarily as an attacking midfielder for the majority of his still-young career.

He helped Flamengo to a continental double of Copa do Brasil and Copa Libertadores in 2022, and although his minutes remain restricted, he still contributed eight goals and three assists in all competitions.
Franca has a SciSkill Potential of 94.8 pr FootballTransfers' official partner SciSports, which would take his ability beyond Enzo Fernandez's current one of 87.3, and he is regarded as Flamengo's most promising academy graduate since Real Madrid ace Vinicius Junior.
