Arsenal legend 'pinching himself' after Rice transfer with Edu 'not done yet'

Arsenal legend Kevin Campbell doesn't think the Gunners are finished in this summer's transfer window after the arrivals of Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz.

Arsenal concluded a deal for Rice on Saturday, agreeing to pay West Ham a potential £105 million for the England midfielder.

Having previously signed Timber and Havertz from Ajax and Chelsea respectively, Mikel Arteta's side look well-poised to mount another Premier League title challenge next season.

The club's spending has already hit the £200m mark this summer, but Campbell, who won the league as an Arsenal striker back in 1991, thinks more new players could follow.

'Arsenal will look to do business'

"I'm pinching myself how quick Arsenal moved," he told Sky Sports. "Arsenal usually don't move this fast. They moved quick last season and had a really good season, bringing [Gabriel] Jesus and [Oleksandr] Zinchenko in. They've moved at light speed in getting Havertz, Timber and Declan Rice in.

"… So fair play to Edu, Mikel Arteta, Richard Garlick, Vinai [Venkatesham] and all the people in the background for getting Arsenal up to speed. And I'm sure the work isn't quite done yet. I'm sure if something else crops up, Arsenal will look to do business."

As well as the new arrivals, Arsenal have also committed William Saliba and Reiss Nelson to new contracts this summer.

They have also made around £25m back in the sales of Granit Xhaka to Bayer Leverkusen and Pablo Mari to Monza, and it is understood they want around £50m to part ways with academy star Folarin Balogun, who shone on loan with Reims last season.

As well as Jesus, Arsenal have signed Gabriel and Gabriel Martinelli in recent seasons, and they could dip back into the Brazilian market this summer, with Santos striker Marcos Leonardo and Gremio midfielder Bitello scouted in recent weeks.
