Ten Hag favourite to make Premier League move
Ajax striker Brian Brobbey was a transfer target for Manchester United last summer, but Everton are closing in on a deal for him
Everton are seeking to complete a deal for Ajax striker Brian Brobbey.
Having narrowly avoided relegation last season, the Goodison Park side are aiming for a more comfortable campaign this time around and see Brobbey as the ideal player to lead their attack.

Everton have not tabled a formal offer for the hitman but it is expected that Everton will soon begin negotiations.
Brobbey has been at Ajax for only 18 months but is set to leave the club after he was signed by Erik ten Hag from RB Leipzig on loan and then subsequently signed on a permanent basis for €16m
He was seen as an ideal replacement for Sebastien Haller, who moved to Borussia Dortmund, but he rarely lived up to these expectations. Indeed, he was primarily a substitute during his time in Ajax, despite netting 14 times in 45 appearances.

Brobbey to Everton
Everton could represent a way out for Brobbey after a chapter of his career that has seen his reputation stall. And the Toffees are known to be seeking a way to strengthen their side.
Sky Sports reports that Ajax sporting chief Sven Mislintat has now been informed of the interest in Brobbey, but that an official offer has not yet been made.
The expectation is that Ajax will seek a high transfer fee, given the fact that they already have little to choose from in the vanguard. The team from Amsterdam was already looking for a competitor for Brobbey but may now be in the market for two centre-forwards.
Although Brobbey did not always have a starting place, his departure would be a hard blow for the club.
Ajax previously waved goodbye to Jurrien Timber and Dusan Tadic, who left for Arsenal and Fenerbahce respectively. On the other hand, to date, Ajax have signed Branco van den Boomen and Benjamin Tahirovic, who came over from Toulouse and AS Roma.
