'Optimistic' Bayern launch new transfer offensive for Kane
Bayern Munich have submitted their second offer for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, according to reports in Germany.
The England striker's future remains up in the air. Spurs have reportedly made their talisman a new lucrative contract offer, but the 29-year-old is said to have no interest in signing a new deal as long as the transfer window is open.
Kane's current contract expires next year, but it is believed that he is keen to move on this summer. Indeed, for a long time, he was intent on joining Manchester United, but the Red Devils had to eventually pull out of the race to sign him due to their budget restrictions caused by the ongoing takeover saga as well as Financial Fair Play regulations.
This has given Bayern Munich the chance to swoop in.

A second offer
With Bayern having already beaten United to the signing of Kim Min-jae, they could land another Red Devils favourite in Kane. After failing to adequately replace Robert Lewandowski, the Bavarians are in the market for a new striker and Kane has crystallised as the priority target it seems.
Their first offer worth €70 million was rejected out of hand by Spurs and notoriously difficult negotiator Daniel Levy, who would only consider selling at a price in excess of €100m.

Now, Bayern have gone in with a second bid, according to Sky Germany, put at €80m plus add-ons. Fabrizio Romano claims that Spurs' stance has not changed and that this offer will also be rejected, but German outlet Kicker notes that this won't deter Bayern, who remain 'optimistic' about sealing the deal.
Indeed, Bayern are said to be prepared for lengthy, drawn-out negotiations as they are confident that Kane, who has reportedly already assented to a move to Munich, is keen on leaving Spurs.
