Klopp issues transfer PROMISE amid further Liverpool exits

Jurgen Klopp has had his say on Liverpool's summer business, announcing that there will still be plenty of movement between now and the start of the season.

The Reds have been quite busy already this summer. With several big names departing, particularly in the midfield area, Klopp and new sporting director Jorg Schmadtke have dipped into the market to make some high-profile transfers.

The first piece of business was signing Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton for a bargain €42 million. The World Cup winner was then joined by Leipzig star Dominik Szoboszlai, who arrived after Liverpool triggered his €70m release clause. All told, the Scousers have spent €112m on just two players this window.

This means that Liverpool likely won't be able to splash the cash before the deals to sell Jordan Henderson and Fabinho go through, with the latter set to rake in as much as €46m. Both are heading to the Saudi Pro League, where the former will link up with Steven Gerrard again, while the Brazilian appears to be on his way to champions Al-Ittihad.

According to Klopp, this won't be the end of Liverpool's summer business.

What did Klopp say?

Speaking to club media, Klopp revealed: "There are so many things to do. The transfer window is open. If my day would have 28 hours at the moment it would not be a problem - I could fill them easily!"

"Still three-and-a-half weeks until the first game of the season," he added. "A few things have to happen before then, definitely, transfer market-wise as well. That is clear now. And it will happen."

Faced with losing two more midfielders in Henderson and Fabinho, Liverpool are looking to add at least another player in that position, believed to be either Southampton's Romeo Lavia or Manchester City's Kalvin Phillips.

Klopp acknowledged that more signings are necessary: "New players have to come in. We will have a good team," the 56-year-old said.
