Ten Hag calls WONDERKIDS to boost Man Utd squad
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is ready to put his faith in the club’s youth players as the Red Devils continue to stall in the transfer market.
With the Glazers’ sale of the club still stalling and a takeover looking unlikely to be completed before the start of the Premier League season, Ten Hag’s ambitions in the transfer market have been severely hampered.
A deal for Mason Mount has been concluded while there has also been meaningful progress to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan, but with several more players required, Man Utd are likely need to make sales before making more additions.
BREAKTHROUGH! Man Utd close to Onana transfer
With no transfers on the horizon, save a potential move for Dean Henderson to Nottingham Forest, Ten Hag’s solution has been to look to the academy to strengthen his first-team squad for pre-season training.
According to the Daily Mirror, he has called up Charlie Savage, Maxi Oyedele and Isak Hansen-Aaroen to work with the first team and, presumably, earn opportunities in the club’s forthcoming friendly encounters.

Of the trio, only Savage has previously appeared for the first team, with the 20-year-old Wales U21 international having been given a minute in the 1-1 Champions League draw with Young Boys in 2021.
Oyedele, 18, is a Poland U19 international who was born in Salford while Hansen-Aaroen has featured for Norway U19 and made his debut with Tromso when he was aged just 15 before moving to Man Utd in 2020.
