Man Utd takeover: Sheikh Jassim now uncertain over move
The ongoing takeover of Manchester United looks increasingly bleak for fans wanting new ownership as Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani is becoming uncertain whether the Glazers will sell.
The Glazers are yet to make a preferred bidder and the Qatari banker is yet to receive a response to a fifth bid of about £6bn lodged four weeks ago.
The Guardian report that the last offer was a take-it-or-leave-it price and that he would not be making another.

It is thought that Sheikh Jassim and his advisers are frustrated with how long the potential sale is taking.
There are also question marks about the American family’s intent to make a sale of the club they’re presided over for 18 years.
It is believed that he and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the Ineos founder and co-owner, are still in the running for the club, while there are minority investors who wish to claim a stake in the Premier League giants.
Sheikh Jassim’s offer is for 100% of the club and Sir Jim’s proposed deal is for just over 50%, But after five bids, there still appears to be an end in sight with the process.
Erik ten Hag’s summer budget
The ongoing process has hindered transfer plans for Erik ten Hag - with it reported that the Dutchman will only receive a kitty of around £150m plus play sales.

The former Ajax boss wants a squad overhaul, as revealed by FootballTransfers last year.
But such plans might have to be shelved if the budget is restricted.
Man Utd have brought in Mason Mount from Chelsea for £60m inclusive of add-ons.
But there are still areas that need to be addressed in the side, as they look to compete in the Champions League next season.
