De Gea REJECTS chance to replace Onana
David de Gea has rejected Inter's approaches in the wake of Andre Onana's transfer to Manchester United, according to a report.
The Red Devils have, at last, announced the signing of Andre Onana. They had to shell out €55 million to land him, making the Cameroonian the third-most expensive goalkeeper in history, but they got their sought-after target in the end.
Onana will replace David de Gea at Old Trafford. Over the course of last season, it became clear that the Spaniard was not capable of adapting to Erik ten Hag's demanding, proactive style of play and, if anything, that approach only exacerbated De Gea's obvious flaws.

Despite Ten Hag's claims that he was happy with De Gea, it was clear that he was looking for a new shot-stopper. It was initially thought that United would only bring in someone who could compete with the long-time servant, but after the club reneged on their contract offer in a bid to get De Gea to take an even larger pay cut, it became clear that an out-and-out replacement was needed.
The 32-year-old officially departed the club as a free agent on June 30 and he is still looking for a new place of employment.

De Gea rejects Inter
According to the Daily Record, De Gea has now rejected Inter's offer to become Andre Onana's replacement at the San Siro. The Nerrazzuri reportedly offered a contract worth an annual €5m (£4.3m), but "David de Gea is looking to secure an after-tax salary of €10m (£8.7m)."
The Spaniard is said to favour a return to his home country, having featured for Atletico Madrid before Sir Alex Ferguson brought him to Old Trafford in 2011. However, if his wage demands are indeed what the Daily Record claims they are, it is unlikely that he will return to LaLiga anytime soon.

Only Saudi clubs appear capable of matching those demands, with Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr currently in the market for a goalkeeper. As for Inter, they are expected to seal a double swoop for Bayern's Yann Sommer and Shakhtar Donetsk's Anatoliy Trubin.
