Mount reveals surprise team he supports after Man Utd transfer
Mason Mount has revealed which team he grew up supporting after signing for Manchester United.
The transfer saga surrounding the former Chelsea midfielder ended on Wednesday when the Red Devils finally announced Mount as a new recruit after tense negotiations with the Blues. United paid £60 million to land the 24-year-old after seeing several lower bids rejected.
Having been handed the club's renowned number seven shirt, which has been worn by the likes of George Best, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, Mount admitted that it was the latter who left a lasting impression on him as a child.

A Portsmouth native, Mount also revealed that he grew up supporting local team Pompey rather than Chelsea despite joining the Blues as a young child and going through every age group at the club's academy.
What did Mount say?
Speaking to club media about Cristiano Ronaldo's famous free kick against Portsmouth, Mount said: "I was probably around 10, I was there in the away end, supporting my team Pompey and was able to witness that special moment."
Referencing a viral video of him as a youngster scoring a free kick, he added: "I think that video of me taking the free-kick was after that day."
In said clip, a young Mount declares that he tries to imitate Ronaldo's shooting technique. "I try to base my free kick on Ronaldo. Hit the ball by the valve and it moves. So what do you do? Top corner, top bins."

“It [Ronaldo's free kick} inspired me", adult Mount continued, "and seeing that moment at Old Trafford, in the away end, I was in awe of that situation and that iconic moment. I’d love to now replicate it."
The 24-year-old is already training with his Manchester United teammates and could make his debut as early as July 12 when Erik ten Hag's men face relegated Leeds in Norway.
