Why De Gea STILL hasn't found a new club after Man Utd exit
Almost a month after leaving Manchester United, David de Gea is still without a new employer - and clubs aren't exactly queuing up to sign him.
The Spaniard left Old Trafford after 12 years and 415 appearances because the Red Devils sought to renegotiate the contract offer they had made to the 32-year-old in order to get him to take an even bigger pay cut. Though Erik ten Hag repeatedly defended De Gea in public last term, it was clear that the goalkeeper wasn't suited to the Dutchman's style of play.
A shot-stopper more proactive and comfortable with the ball at his feet was needed and the Manchester club got their man when they reunited Ten Hag with his former Ajax protégé Andre Onana in a deal worth €52.5 million. While the Cameroonian has already made his friendly debut for United, De Gea is still without a club.

Despite being linked with several big names in Europe and beyond, the Spaniard's situation looks unlikely to be resolved soon.
Where will De Gea play next season?
The most prominent recent links saw De Gea reportedly being eyed as Onana's potential replacement by Inter. According to the Daily Record, the 32-year-old turned the offer down because the Italian giants wouldn't meet his €10m (£8.7m) per season wage demands.
The same report stated that he favours a return to Spain, but none of the clubs who could afford him are in desperate need of a keeper. Europa League champions Sevilla were linked at one point, but unless they sell Bono, an approach seems far-fetched.

Olympique Marseille, Bayern Munich and Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr have also been mentioned, but the truth is "no one is rushing to the gate for him," writes Footmercato. In other words, clubs aren't exactly queuing up to sign the experienced shot-stopper.
