Mason Greenwood: Adidas key as Man Utd hold ‘positive’ talks over return
Manchester United are said to have held “positive” talks over welcoming striker Mason Greenwood back into the first-team fold at Old Trafford.
Greenwood has been out of action since January 2022, when he was charged with rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault. Although these were subsequently dropped, he has been subject to an internal investigation at Man Utd which has not been officially concluded.
The 21-year-old, whose peak Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) hit €77m, has been training alone in order to keep his fitness up, but it is unclear whether he will return for the Red Devils or not, with the possibility of a loan deal suggested.

One of the factors that is set to dictate United’s decision is the reaction of sponsors to any potential return of the once-capped England striker, with talks already held with Adidas over his potential return.
According to The Sun, these initial discussions have been positive.
An unnamed source told the paper: “The initial signals from Adidas are positive. Without their blessing it would be hard to see a way back. But they have communicated his return would not necessarily be an insurmountable obstacle.
“They have certainly given the impression they would not be fiercely opposed to it.”

Ten Hag on Greenwood
FootballTransfers exclusively revealed that, in a sporting sense, Ten Hag is keen on the player and would welcome him back into the fold.
Last week, the manager stated: “It’s a club decision and of course, I shared my opinions but it’s a club decision and we all have to accept that.
“I can’t say so much about it but I shared my opinion about it, so let’s see what’s going to happen.”
If Greenwood were to return, it would ease the need for Man Utd to complete a transfer deal for a No.9, with the Old Trafford club presently in talks over signing Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund.
