Manchester United have been granted another boost as they look to clear out their deadwood.

Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr are looking to give Eric Bailly a way out of Old Trafford. The defender spent last season on loan with Marseille, but he failed to impress in France.

There was an option to make the move permanent, but after a poor season, the French club ultimately decided against it.

Bailly is contracted to Man Utd until 2024, which means the club must sell now in order to ensure that they recoup some money for the player.

Ten Hag omitted the 29-year-old from his pre-season squad, as the club tours the States. It’s clear that the defender is not in the Dutchman’s plans ahead of the new season.

Al-Nassr have already bought the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Alex Telles from the club. Now seems that Bailly is next, according to Sky Sports - with a deal thought to be around £20million.

It’s thought that Bailly reached out to Ronaldo and asked him about the league and lifestyle in Saudi.

Bailly spoke about Ten Hag last season and where the club had been going wrong.

Bailly on Ten Hag

“The club should avoid favouring English players and give everyone a chance,” Bailly told reporters while he was at Marseille. “The club should] encourage competition in the dressing room, not just look out for some.

“I’ve always had the feeling that the national player was prioritised. That doesn’t happen at Chelsea or other big Premier League clubs.

“Some people take it for granted that they are going to start, and that weakens the team. Luckily, Ten Hag has a lot of character and I hope he can change that dynamic.”
