Al-Ittihad's star France duo Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante are pushing to convince Raphael Varane to leave Manchester United for Saudi Arabia.

Benzema and Kante are two of the highest-profile names to lead the exodus towards the Pro League.

After landing Cristiano Ronaldo in December the Saudi top flight has seen an influx of elite players this summer, spending millions to put the league on the map.

And while the season has already begun, it appears there may yet be further transfer activity to come.

Varane is the latest player to be linked with the Pro League, specifically Al-Ittihad.

He of course comes highly recommended after shining with Real Madrid, United and France over the past decade, and would be a huge coup for the club as they look to compete with the likes of Ronaldo's Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal, who completed the signing of Neymar this week.

According to Sports Zone, Varane's management team has already been contacted with an eye to a move.

Former Real Madrid team-mate Benzema and Kante, who lifted the World Cup alongside Varane in 2018, are also doing their part to attract the defender.

Varane, however, is still in his prime at 30 years old and wants to continue performing at the highest level in Europe for at least another season, and will not entertain thoughts of moving to Saudi Arabia right now.

The centre-back has played almost 450 games in all competitions between his time at Lens, Madrid and United and is considered one of the best in the world in his position.

His roll of honour includes a World Cup title, four Champions Leagues and three Liga crowns, while he also featured on the losing side for France in last year's World Cup final in Qatar.
