Chelsea 'REALLY WANT' Arsenal slayer as Romano drops transfer BOMB
Chelsea 'really want' to sign Manchester City youngster Cole Palmer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are still in the market for a creative, versatile attacker following Christopher Nkunku's injury. Thus far, only promoted Luton Town have truly felt the brunt of Chelsea's frontline, which has otherwise lacked the attacking oomph Mauricio Pochettino is looking for.
Chelsea thought they had a deal to sign Michael Olise wrapped up when they triggered his Crystal Palace release clause, but the Frenchman decided to remain loyal to the Eagles, signing a new four-year deal instead.

This has forced the London club to look elsewhere. Bradley Barcola of Lyon has been suggested as an option, but Paris Saint-Germain very much lead the race to sign the youngster. Nottingham Forest's Brennan Johnson has also been touted as a target, but concrete talks have not materialised, while more recently Brentford's banned forward Ivan Toney has become the subject of some eyebrow-raising rumours.
Now, however, Fabrizio Romano has dropped a veritable transfer bomb regarding a new target.
Chelsea want Palmer
The Italian transfer expert announced to his 18.4 million Twitter followers that the Blues have added Man City attacker Cole Palmer to their shortlist. "Chelsea add Cole Palmer to list of talented offensive players being considered for final addition," he wrote.
"Chelsea are set to open talks soon as they see Palmer as [the] best solution. It remains to be seen [what Man City's] position on Palmer [is] but Chelsea really want him."

The 21-year-old recently put Arsenal to the sword in the FA Cup and has generally impressed when he has been allowed to feature. The youngster is open to a move in search of more minutes, which Pep Guardiola was forced to admit after his side's UEFA Super Cup win over Sevilla.
“The opinion I had is he wanted to leave," the Spaniard said, "but now I don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t think a loan is going to happen. He’s going to stay or leave, but I think a loan is not going to happen. I understand he wants to be more active than the previous season."
