Chelsea could be about to sign their second Brazilian hotshot of the summer, with Santos’ Deivid Washington seemingly close to joining the Blues.
Eighteen-year-old winger Angelo Gabriel made that very move this month – and, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea hope to complete a deal for Deivid in the coming days.

What position does Deivid play in?
Deivid primarily operates as a centre-forward but is versatile enough to be deployed on either wing, too, potentially making him an extremely useful attacking option for the Blues.
How good is Deivid?
Deivid made his professional debut in April and has gone on to feature 16 times for the Santos first team in all competitions, scoring twice.
He scored on each of his first two starts for the iconic club from Sao Paulo, who have boasted such superstars as Pele and Neymar over the years.

What clubs are interested in Deivid?
While there doesn’t appear to be a mad scramble to secure Deivid’s signature, Chelsea are said to face competition from Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.
But Deivid could well find himself in Ligue 1 even if he signs for Chelsea, with Romano claiming the Blues intend to loan him straight out to partner club Strasbourg.
