Revealed: How Chelsea could spend ANOTHER €270m this summer
Chelsea’s spending in the 2023 summer transfer could reach nearly €500 million if the Blues manage to finalise deals for their current major targets.
This has been offset by the fact that the west London club have managed to raise €253.9m through player sales since the window opened in July, but given they splashed over €600m in the first 12 months of Todd Boehly’s reign, Financial Fair Play may soon become an issue.

Furthermore, their spending under the American billionaire could exceed €1 billion by the time the summer transfer window slams shut on 1 September.
That is because Chelsea still have six major targets on their transfer wish-list as their Premier League season opener against Liverpool edges closer.

The Blues still want to sign Moises Caicedo, Dusan Vlahovic, Michael Olise, Tyler Adams, Sepe Elye Wahi and Deivid Washington before this summer draws to a close.
Brighton & Hove Albion remain firmly planted in their stance that it will take €115m (£100m) for them to sanction the sale of Ecuador international Caicedo, while Chelsea’s pursuit of both Olise and Adams is helped by the presence of release clauses in their current deals.
According to multiple reports, Olise has a €40m (£35m) release clause in his Crystal Palace contract, while Adams included a €23m (£20m) relegation release clause when he joined Leeds United last summer. Following their 19th place finish last season, that is now active.
Furthermore, Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in a player-plus-cash swap deal that would see Romelu Lukaku head the other way to Turin. However, Juventus want an additional €40m to enable the swap deal to take place.
Sepe Elye Wahi and Deivid Washington are two young strikers on Chelsea’s radar, with the club planning on sending them to Strasbourg if they manage to complete deals. They could cost a combined €45m.
In total, those six players would cost Chelsea close to €270m, taking their summer spending close to €500m.
