Chelsea set for MASSIVE windfall from Newcastle transfer
Chelsea are set to earn a 'hefty' windfall from Tino Livramento's move to Newcastle United, according to a report.
After a drawn-out transfer saga, the English youngster now appears to be heading to St. James' Park after all. Newcastle are long-time admirers of Livramento and a deal is now in the offing, though there are some question marks about the fee and how much his former club Chelsea are due.
The right-back came through the Blues' academy but never made a senior appearance for the club. He joined Southampton in the summer of 2021 and started like a house on fire on the South Coast, slotting straight into Ralph Hasenhuttl's team and impressing.
An ACL injury in the spring of 2022 would ultimately hamper his development and see him miss the entirety of the previous campaign, but Newcastle have been courting him since the start of the transfer window despite the injury and the fact that they are not particularly in need of a right-back.

When Chelsea sold Livramento, they inserted a buy-back clause as well as a sell-on clause in his contract, but it's more complex than it seems.
How much will Chelsea get?
What we know is that Chelsea are set for a sizeable windfall due to the latter clause, which has been described by The Athletic as 'hefty.' It's a fluid sell-on clause based on profit, however, so it's not as simple as 20 per cent or 25 per cent.
Southampton paid £4 million for the youngster and will, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, sell him for a package of around £40m. This reportedly entitles Chelsea to 40 per cent of the profit.

In other words, Chelsea are set to earn close to £15m (€17m) from Tino Livramento's sale to Newcastle. This will take the Blues' earnings from transfers to as high as €270 million this summer.
