Liverpool eye former Arsenal target for midfield
Liverpool are considering an approach for Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz this week.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has said via TeamTalk that the Reds remain active on the transfer market in its final week.
So far the club have signed Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, and Waturu Endo to boost the centre of the park, but the feeling is that they are up for bringing more names in.

Six midfielders have departed Anfield this summer, including Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, both of whom left for clubs in Saudi Arabia.
Crystal Palace star Cheick Doucoure has a price tag of £70m price tag and is just one of a number of targets.
Meanwhile, reports in Germany suggest a move for Kouadio Kone is on the cards, a player whom FootballTransfers revealed that Liverpool were keen on earlier this year.
But Luiz is being looked at as a possible option. The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Villa Park this summer and in windows before.
Arsenal had interest in the Brazilian last year but a deal didn’t come to fruition. The 25-year-old has also been linked with a move to Tottenham as well this summer window, but no approach has been firmed up so far.

Villa player a target for Liverpool
Villa managed to secure Luiz down to a new deal last year, with the player signing fresh terms until 2026.
But, indeed, Jacobs said that Liverpool’s interest is very real. He said: “Yeah, Douglas Luiz is a name that has been discussed internally by Liverpool. I’m not aware of any movement at this point.
“I think that it’s crystal clear that Liverpool wants to add between now and the end of the window if the right name becomes available.”
Luiz is thought to be valued at least £60m by Villa, who may not be willing to sell so close to the window closing.
