Liverpool to make €30m bid for star 'REALLY KEEN' on transfer
Liverpool are expected to make a formal offer to Bayern Munich for Ryan Gravenberch, with the midfielder thought to be keen to make the move to the Premier League.
Gravenberch has been a long-term target for Jurgen Klopp but Bayern had rebuffed an approach from Liverpool earlier in the summer, while Manchester United have also been interested in a loan move.
However, the Dutchman has played just nine minutes of Bayern’s season so far and Gravenberch wants to leave in search of first team football ahead of the European Championships next summer.
TALKS: Liverpool open negotiations over Gravenberch
Liverpool are believed to be preparing a bid of around €30 million for Gravenberch, with the 21-year-old only having signed from Ajax last summer for a fee of €18.5m.
While Gravenberch prefers a move to Liverpool over any other club, talks between the Reds and Bayern have yet to progress, with discussions only being held over a fee currently.
Should the finances be achievable for Liverpool, they will then submit their offer, while Bayern will look towards replacements, with Fulham’s Joao Palhinha said to be top of their list.
What next for Bayern and Gravenberch?
Gravenberch has made just three starts in the Bundesliga since signing for Bayern last summer and he would relish a move to Liverpool, where Klopp sees him as a versatile number 6 or 8.
However, Bayern are unwilling to pay Fulham’s asking price for Palhinha, meaning they may hold off on selling Gravenberch until a replacement is found.
Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah is also high up on Bayern’s list, with Thomas Tuchel keen to reunite with his former player, although a loan bid has been rebuffed, with the Blues holding out for a fee in excess of €50m.
POTENTIAL: Why Man Utd still have a chance of signing Ryan Gravenberch
United, meanwhile, have been monitoring Gravenberch as an alternative to Sofyan Amrabat but they are set to focus their resources on the Fiorentina man, leaving Liverpool with a free run for the Bayern midfielder ahead of Friday’s deadline.
