Though Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Wataru Endo, that may not be the end of their midfield business.

The Reds finally appear to have found the defensive midfielder Jurgen Klopp has so desired since the departure of Fabinho. The man in question is Stuttgart captain Wataru Endo, who was surely as surprised by Liverpool's sudden interest as everyone else.

With the Premier League season already underway and the need for a proper six being evident in the opening game against Chelsea, the Scousers moved quickly to seal this deal and the Japan international is already on Merseyside for his medical, as confirmed by his coach.

However, Liverpool may yet try to sign another midfielder in order to beef up that particular department, according to Fabrizio Romano. There is no guarantee that they will dip into the market again, but it's certainly a possibility, claims the Italian transfer expert.

Bayern forced to sell

Someone they could target is Ryan Gravenberch, whom Bayern may be forced to sell after splashing the cash this summer. Indeed, recent reports suggest that the Reds have rekindled their long-standing interest in the Dutchman and, claims the Daily Mail, he may become available.

Gravenberch himself has stated that he is desperate to play and though he would prefer to get game time at Bayern, that may not be an option. He did not play in Bayern's embarrassing Supercup loss to Leipzig and the 21-year-old mostly featured as a substitute in the few games that Thomas Tuchel oversaw towards the back end of last season.

Bayern have spent €150 million Harry Kane and Kim Min-jae this summer and Tuchel, like Klopp, is desperate to sign a holding midfielder, which would mean that the Bavarians may have to offload some more players despite already raking in €100m from sales. Moreover, signing another midfielder after Konrad Laimer may further restrict Gravenberch's game time.
