Liverpool's deal for Ryan Gravenberch depends on Bayern Munich's pursuit of Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.

Bayern are only willing to let Gravenberch leave if they are able to sign a replacement before the transfer window closes.

Thomas Tuchel has made it abundantly clear that he wants the Bavarian club to sign a 'number six' and Palhinha is their top target.

Should the Portugal international move to Munich, where he would join England captain Harry Kane, then Gravenberch will go to Liverpool.

The Reds are looking to add the Dutchman to new signings Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo in their midfield.

Jurgen Klopp must believe that he can help the 21-year-old to fulfil the potential that he promised at Ajax.

He is likely to cost around €30 million, far less than the €130m the club were willing to spend on Moises Caicedo earlier in the window.

Palhinha to Bayern?

Bayern have had a €55m (£47m) offer for Palhinha turned down by Fulham, according to German outlet Sport.

The Premier League club are reportedly holding out for closer to €70m (£60m).

Palhinha has agreed the terms of a contract of at least five years, according to journalist Florian Plettenburg.

The 28-year-old had a fantastic 2022-23 season in west London and is ready to play Champions League football.
