Manchester United target Benjamin Pavard is now looking to make a move to Inter Milan after no bid was forthcoming from the Premier League giants.

The Frenchman was ready in waiting at Bayern Munich, where his deal is up next year, after interest from Man Utd.

But the side have yet to make a formal offer for the World Cup winner, and it seems that it is Inter who are the favourites to land him.

Pavard's focus

Sky Germany journalist Floran Pletteburg has touched on the issue, saying that he believes a move to the Italian giants would be a ‘downgrade to his career’.

The reporter said: “Pavard remained at Bayern because there was no replacement and Manchester United had not yet formalized an official offer. Now the player is very focused on Inter and I don't understand why. In my opinion, it would be a downgrade for his career.”

Man Utd are having to move on players in order to buy - they are trying to free up space in the final days of the transfer window in an attempt to bring in their targets.

They have been unable to move on Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay so far, while Anthony Martial, who Ten Hag wanted to sell, led the forward line for the club in their Premier League encounter against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The club are hoping that further offers arise for some of their squad, so they will be able to bring in further additions.

Man Utd have signed Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund already this window, but they have paid more than they hoped for on each of those players.

It has left them out of sorts for other targets, but there is a hope that deals can be squeezed in before the transfer window ends.
