Altay Bayindir will be leaving for England shortly from Turkey for his transfer to Manchester United, according to reports.

Journalist Sercan Hamzaolu reports that a transfer is nearing for the goalkeeper, in a deal worth around £5million.

It is believed that Fenerbahce have stuck on a clause so they will receive a sell-on percentage if Man Utd were to sell him down the line.

The goalkeeper was pictured apparently saying his goodbyes when the Super Lig club took on FC Twente the first leg of their Europa Conference League play-off clash at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.

He was seen waving to the crowd and putting his hand over the club's crest on his warm-up jersey. Bayindir has been with Fenerbahce since 2019, making 145 appearances and keeping 44 clean sheets after joining them from MKE Ankaragucu.

His deal comes after FootballTransfers’ story that a number of clubs are looking at Dean Henderson, who spent last season on loan with Nottingham Forest.

The Midlands club, Crystal Palace, and another Premier League side are keeping tabs on the English shot-stopper.

The club are in the market for a second-choice shot-stopper who can fill in whenever Andre Onana is not available and when Henderson eventually leaves.

Henderson set for exit

Henderson, who featured in the club’s last two games on the bench, is thought to be confident of an exit before the window shuts in less than a week. Henderson enjoyed a fruitful period with Forest last campaign as they managed to clinch survival, but his time was cut short after sustaining a thigh injury in January.

Bayindir was thought to have been conducting medical tests for Man Utd, while a deal appears to be nearing for the goalkeeper.

His entry will no doubt mean that Henderson is finally able to clinch his move away on a permanent basis, bringing an end to his time at Old Trafford.
