Manchester United have offered Anthony Martial to Real Madrid following Vinicius Junior's injury, according to Spanish media.

Los Blancos are short on forward options after the sale of Karim Benzema to Al-Ittihad and with Kylian Mbappe not expected to complete his long-anticipated move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

The injury suffered by Vinicius Jr against Celta Vigo further exacerbated the problem and the Brazilian is expected to be sidelined for around a month. Carlo Ancelotti, however, reiterated the comments made prior to the game that Real Madrid won't make any more signings and that their squad is complete.

"No signings? Our attack is complete," he added after his side's victory. "The numbers speak for themselves. We are scoring goals without Benzema and Vinicius. We can win without Vinicius, Benzema, Courtois, Militao."

Nevertheless, Man Utd reportedly used this opportunity to try and offload an unwanted star.

United offer Martial

That is at least according to Defensa Central (via Fichajes), which claims that United tried to capitalise on the injury by offering Anthony Martial as a replacement to Real Madrid on an initial loan deal with an 'enticing' purchase option. The fact that it doesn't include an obligation to buy makes the deal more attractive, according to Spanish media.

The Red Devils are still desperately trying to offload their deadwood in hopes of raising enough funds before the end of the window to allow them to sign some of Erik ten Hag's priority targets like Sofyan Amrabat and Jean-Clair Todibo.

Though Martial wouldn't have immediately flushed a lot of money into United's coffers, getting him off the books would have freed up some resources, though whether there actually is anything to this report is doubtful.

The injury-prone Frenchman featured in Man Utd's two most recent Premier League outings, coming on as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham and starting in the scintillating 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Nottingham Forest.
