Man Utd defender Brandon Williams has enjoyed a decent pre-season campaign, but we are told that there is no decision over his future just yet.

Leeds United have been linked to Williams, but nothing has moved far along at this stage - the player is continuing his time working under Erik ten Hag during the summer.

The club would rather make deals permanent at this stage of the season, but it's not lost how much Ten Hag enjoys developing young talent. The 22-year-old full-back has been in good form during Man Utd's tour of the States, but no formal decision has been made yet.

Williams did spend the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Norwich City, where now-Leeds boss Daniel Farke briefly worked with him before the German was sacked and replaced by Dean Smith.

Ten Hag is hoping to raise enough player sales to fund his move for Fiorentina's Moroccan star, Sofyan Amrabat. We understand that a fee for the midfielder would be in the region of £30 million, and personal terms won't be a problem.

Jonny Evans has been training with Man Utd, but we are told that so far no contract is on the table for the defender. The club is weighing up whether to make one, however, with Ten Hag being a fan of the experience the veteran can lend some of the younger players among the squad, as well as his vast time in the Premier League being key.

Another striker as well as Hojlund

Ten Hag wants a No.9

Though there has been talk of Rasmus Hojlund being the club's focal point of attack next season, which could be the case if the cards don't fall Man Utd's way, we have been informed that Ten Hag wants to bring in another striker - a powerhouse No.9 who could be bought with the sales that the club makes. The Dutchman sees Hojlund as more of a versatile attacker and is not willing to put the pressure of being the club's main goal provider on the 20-year-old next season as the club contend with the Premier League, two domestic trophies, and the Champions League.

Some of the biggest fees Man Utd feels that they can recoup are from the possible sales of Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay.
