Fred transfer TWIST as new club launches official bid - Romano
Manchester United’s hopes of offloading Fred have received an unexpected shot in the arm with the news that Fulham have re-entered negotiations to sign the midfielder, while transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed an official bid from Fenerbahce.
Erik ten Hag’s side have already added Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund to their ranks this summer, and this phase of the transfer window is about selling the club’s benchwarmers in order to raise funds for potential late action.
Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat is one player who is being targeted by Man Utd, but a transfer appears to hinge on the Red Devils offloading others first.

Donny van de Beek’s talks with Real Sociedad are progressing slowly, but the door is open for Fred to depart, with the Brazilian not in Ten Hag’s immediate plans, despite featuring on 56 occasions last season.
The 30-year-old has proven to be tricky to offload. Fulham appeared to have bowed out of talks for the player while interest from Galatasaray has faded. Meanwhile, Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri brutally shot down any prospect of Fred joining the Serie A side. This came despite Fabrizio Romano giving the player a “100%” chance of leaving the club this summer.
Man Utd, therefore, have received a big boost with Fulham reviving their interest in the player, which was revealed by The Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Fenerbahce have entered the bidding process for the player.
"EXCLUSIVE: Fenerbahce have submitted an official bid to Manchester United for Fred, clubs sources confirm," Romano said via Twitter.
"Understand proposal worth €15m total package, add-ons included.
"Negotiations ongoing on both club and player side, Fener trying to complete this top signing soon."
How much will Man Utd earn from Fred sale?
The Mail reports that Fulham negotiations are ongoing, with the Red Devils hoping to land around €23m for the midfielder - comfortably more than Fenerbahce are presently offering.
Man Utd are under some pressure to offload the former Shakhtar Donetsk player, who joined the club in 2018. His contract expires next summer, at which point he will be eligible to leave on a free transfer. There appears little point in retaining him if he is only going to sit on the bench.
Man Utd may need to compromise on Fred’s transfer fee, though. They may wish €23m, but FootballTransfers rates the Brazilian’s value at nearly €17m - roughly in line with Fenerbahce's offer.
