Man Utd REJECT double transfer raid

Manchester United have rejected £30 million offers from West Ham for Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay. However, it's believed that another approach might be made.

Outlet 90min reports that the side's opening offer last month for Maguire, of £20m, was turned down, and a subsequent bid of £30 million was also knocked back.

West Ham also sent a bid for Scott McTominay, but it also did not meet Man Utd's valuation of the Scotsman. It is thought that the bids were close to Man Utd's asking price, but the overall package ultimately was not enough for the club to accept.

The Times states that Man Utd would accept an offer in the region of £40m to £45m for Scott McTominay and £35m for Maguire. Man Utd have spent over £100 million this summer, with Andre Onana, Mason Mount, and Rasmus Hojlund coming in. They are hoping to sell more players to ensure the arrival of Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina.

In any case, it is thought that Maguire remains unconvinced that moving away from Old Trafford would be the best move for him, even though the England international had his captaincy stripped.

Man Utd departures

The likes of Donny van de Beek and Fred are also expected to move this summer, as Erik ten Hag looks to make a complete overhaul of the squad, something the Dutchman had planned as far back as last summer, as revealed by FootballTransfers.

Man Utd is set to compete on four fronts next campaign, with the side back in the Champions League. Ten Hag wants to push on from the club's third-place finish in the Premier League, too, with a title challenge in mind. The ongoing takeover saga has hamstrung the market for Man Utd in a certain sense, with a preferred bidder still not named by the Glazers, despite the process taking up a majority of the year.
