Man Utd benefit from Mbappe transfer as Ten Hag lines up €100m bid
Manchester United hope to benefit from the transfer chaos that Kylian Mbappe is causing to land Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, Sport reports.
Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag has personally requested the Red Devils board to buy the 23-year-old from Real Madrid, with the Old Trafford club having been interested in the France international star last summer too.
Although Tchouameni was an important part of Carlo Ancelotti's team last season, a transfer due to ‘market conditions’ is not entirely unthinkable.

Those ‘conditions’ refer to the possible transfer of Mbappe to Real Madrid. The 24-year-old Frenchman has an expiring contract with Paris Saint-Germain and has reportedly agreed to a free transfer to Real Madrid next year.
However, PSG want to sell the striker at all costs. Madrid could be happy with that arrangement but have to sell players first to make a deal feasible.
Tchouameni is one of those players that Real Madrid are considering selling. The defensive midfielder is on the market and is also enjoying interest from Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

Partly due to the arrival of Jude Bellingham, who was signed from Borussia Dortmund for at least €103 million, Tchouameni no longer seems indispensable in the Spanish capital.
Manchester United are reportedly preparing a bid that is "very similar" to the amount Real Madrid paid Monaco last summer. The 25-time international (2 goals) signed from the Ligue 1 side for €80m plus another €20m in bonuses. His contract at the Bernabeu runs until the summer of 2028.
Will Man Utd really sign Tchouameni?
This is an exciting development for Man Utd supporters, but the reality is that such a transfer is unlikely.
The Red Devils have stubbornly refused to pay big money for a centre forward this summer, despite that being a position they are clearly in need of, while the likelihood is that Sofyan Amrabat will arrive from Fiorentina for a far smaller fee than the one required to sell Tchouameni.
