Ten Hag favourite hits back at 'FAKE NEWS' amid Man Utd transfer links

Nicolas Tagliafico has hit back at 'fake news' regarding a potential Lyon exit.
The Argentine has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent days after Luke Shaw sustained a muscle injury in training that forced the Red Devils to dip into the market for a new left-back. Tagliafico, a former Erik ten Hag player, was seen as a potential option, and FootballTransfers exclusively revealed that the World Cup winner was keen on a reunion with his former Ajax boss.
French media, however, took it a step further. After the recent news that former Chelsea target Bradley Barcola will be allowed to join Paris Saint-Germain, L'Equipe began reporting that Tagliafico is throwing his toys out the pram behind the scenes, ostensibly because he does not understand why the Frenchman is allowed to leave but he isn't.

One crucial oversight in this reporting is that the onus has always been on United - or any other club - to make a move first, and that just hasn't materialised. The Red Devils were focused on Chelsea's Marc Cucurella and now that this move has stalled, they are going for Sergio Reguilon of Tottenham.
Tagliafico, meanwhile, has hit back at the allegations made by French media.

'Fake news'
The 30-year-old took to Twitter to rubbish reports that he is upset with Lyon for blocking a potential transfer. Quote tweeting Footmercato reporter Sebastien Denis, Tagliafico simply responded with 'fake news.'
Tagliafico only arrived in France last year, joining from Ajax in a €4.2 million deal. At his previous club, he enjoyed some extremely successful years under Ten Hag, being part of Ajax's famous Champions League run.

The Argentine has featured in all three of Lyon's games so far, even chipping in with a goal already from left-back, but if the club's early-season form is anything to go by, it will be another underwhelming campaign after last term's seventh-place finish.
