The Danish forward has signed his contract at Old Trafford and is expected to be officially unveiled as a Red Devils player before their pre-season friendly against Lens on Saturday.

Man Utd have previously unveiled Casemiro and Raphael Varane during home matches at Old Trafford and Hojlund is set to be the latest big-name star to be given this treatment.

Goretzka an Amrabat alternative?

Sky Germany claims that Man Utd are weighing up a move for Bayern Munich's Leon Goretzka as they see him as a potential alternative to Sofyan Amrabat.

This comes after the news that the Moroccan has rejected a lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia in order to push through a move from Fiorentina to Man Utd as the two clubs edge towards a deal, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 26-year-old is Erik ten Hag’s priority target in midfield and United’s approach for Amrabat should become formal once the club’s €85 million deal for Rasmus Hojlund is complete.

Amrabat has attracted major interest since starring for Morocco at the 2022 World Cup and Saudi side Al Ahli have become the latest team to make a move for him, however the player is said to be holding out for United, having played for Ten Hag at Utrecht.

Personal terms are already agreed with Amrabat and United are reportedly waiting on the sales of Fred and Donny van de Beek in order to launch an official bid to Fiorentina, with the Italian side thought to be demanding around €25m for their star midfielder.

West Ham plan double swoop

Journalist Alan Nixon reports that David Moyes’ side have started 'long-distance medicals' for Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay.

The medical records of the Man Utd duo have been sent to West Ham, where they will be studied. It is pointed out that even getting so far in the process suggests that the Hammers are close to securing transfers for both players.

Mejbri set for Premier League loan

Manchester United have accepted an offer from Premier League new boys Luton Town to take young midfielder Hannibal Mejbri on loan for the upcoming campaign, according to Tunisian journalist Mahmoud Missaoui.

The 20-year-old has impressed in pre-season for United and had attracted the attention of the likes of Monaco and Feyenoord; however, the preference is believed to be for Mejbri to get Premier League experience.

Mejbri has made just three appearances for United since joining from Monaco in 2019 for a fee that could rise to €10 million with add-ons, but he is still considered one of the club’s brightest prospects.

The Tunisian international has made 24 appearances for his country, including appearances at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Mejbri is into the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, however, United have the option to extend for a further season, although they will likely look to tie him down for the long term to ward off any transfer interest.

Amad Diallo injury update

Man Utd have provided an update on Amad Diallo's injury - and it's worse than initially suspected.

The 21-year-old limped off during Man Utd's pre-season friendly against Arsenal in the US, though he downplayed any fears that it was a major setback on his Instagram. The injury was 'nothing serious' and he would be back on the pitch soon, the Ivorian wrote.

The latest update given by his club paints a different picture, however. "Unfortunately, he [Amad] has also been ruled out of the first part of the 2023/24 campaign, and we await further details on his estimated recovery date, with the home league clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers up first for Erik ten Hag's Reds on Monday 14 August."

Apart from being a blow to his personal aspirations, it could also derail his hopes of seeing regular game time this season. Ten Hag was keen to assess the youngster in pre-season to see whether he is ready for the first team or whether another loan would be beneficial.

The latter likely won't materialise now in light of the news.
