Manchester United have already signed their new number one in Andre Onana, but Erik ten Hag is still on the lookout for goalkeepers.

With David de Gea having left as a free agent and veteran back-up Tom Heaton injured, Dean Henderson is Man Utd’s only other senior ‘keeper as things stand.

As such, it’s little surprise that the 13-time Premier League champions would want to bring in another body in that department – after missing out on Japan prodigy Zion Suzuki.

According to the Chris Jack of The Herald, United are eyeing 25-year-old Rangers custodian Robby McRorie.

McRorie is said to be valued at £1m by the Glasgow giants, for whom he has made five first-team appearances after coming through the club’s youth system.

The former Livingston loanee has represented Scotland up to U21 level and has been called up to the senior squad – although he is still waiting to make his full international debut.

A new era between the sticks at Old Trafford

It’s fair to say Man Utd’s goalkeeping department will have a rather different make-up in 2023/24 – not least with Onana becoming the club’s first new number one for 11 years.

The 27-year-old Cameroonian joined from Inter Milan last month in a deal worth €52.5m (£47.2m), having established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in world football during his sole season with the Serie A side – who he helped reach the Champions League final.

He’s one of four arrivals at Old Trafford so far this season, along with Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund and Jonny Evans – who returned to United on a short-term deal after leaving Leicester as a free agent.

Ten Hag and co. kick off their Premier League campaign at home to Wolves on Monday night.
