Man Utd set to BREAK Amrabat promise
Erik ten Hag faces breaking his transfer promise to Sofyan Amrabat, with the Moroccan international looking set to stay at Fiorentina despite heavy interest from Manchester United.
Amrabat, 27, has been linked with an exit all summer, but remains a La Viola player as the window enters its final few days.
Man Utd’s hopes of signing Amrabat earlier this summer window relied upon player sales and the failure to shift Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek on permanent deals has left them scrambling for cash to afford Amrabat.

The Red Devils have instead turned their attention to signing Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch on loan, in a potential swap deal with McTominay, although they are set to face competition from Liverpool for the Dutchman’s signature.
Furthermore, Tottenham Hotspur's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is also a target and FootballTransfers understand that Man Utd have opened talks with Spurs regarding a possible move for the Denmark international.
In the process, Amrabat has been seemingly cast aside, meaning Ten Hag looks likely to break his transfer promise.

Amrabat to Man Utd off?
Fiorentina-focused outlet Labaro Viola have reported that Amrabat was told of interest from Barcelona and Man Utd by his representatives, but has been forced to stay at Fiorentina.
The report states that Amrabat was ‘promised a move to England’ by Man Utd boss Ten Hag, but an official bid has still not been lodged by the Red Devils.
The 27-year-old is now in limbo at Fiorentina, but looks set to stay at the Serie A club until January at least unless a late offer comes in for him.
Amrabat’s unknown situation has seen him miss Fiorentina’s opening two league games of the 2023-24 season, with Labaro Viola reporting that he isn’t in the right mental place to play for the club.
The Morocco international wants to leave the club, but Man Utd’s false promise may lead to an extended spell in Florence.
