Manchester United could move a step closer to signing Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat as Fenerbahce plot a double swoop for Fred and Anthony Martial.

Any deal for Amrabat has seemed dependent on Man Utd offloading players – and Fred and Martial could join West Ham-bound Harry Maguire in a growing exodus from Old Trafford.

Scott McTominay has also been linked with the Hammers, while Jadon Sancho is said to be attracting interest from Aston Villa – among others.

United have accepted a €15m bid from Fenerbahce for Fred – and, according to Turkish journalist Sercan Hamzaoglu, the Istanbul giants are considering a move for Martial too.

However, the Frenchman appears to be a back-up plan for Fenerbahce: their first choice is said to be Marseille and Turkey forward Cengiz Under.

Our in-house Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently rates Under at €22.9m – whereas Martial, adds Hamzaoglu, could be available for free, despite still having 10 months left to run on his United contract.

Man Utd’s next signing?

That being said, Martial is reportedly demanding almost €5m a year in wages – which would rather negate any lack of transfer fee.

Regardless, Man Utd look to have generated enough funds to complete a deal for €24m-rated Amrabat – with Maguire set to join West Ham for around £30m (€34.7m).

The 26-year-old Morocco international – who starred in his country’s run to the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup – could become United’s fifth signing of the summer, after Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Jonny Evans (who returned to Old Trafford on a short-term deal after leaving Leicester as a free agent).
