Man Utd Transfer News: NEW Maguire suitors emerge, Pavard bid REJECTED, Van de Beek offered LOAN
Aston Villa have enquired about the possibility of signing Manchester United defender Harry Maguire following the serious knee injury sustained by Tyrone Mings on the opening day of the season, FootballTransfers understands.
Mings was stretchered off during Villa's 4-1 defeat against Newcastle and the England international will undergo a scan to understand the severity of the injury, with fears of an ACL tear.

If Mings is confirmed to be out until at least the New Year, Villa plan to sign another central defender before the end of the transfer window, despite landing Pau Torres earlier this summer.
We have informed that talks with Man Utd regarding Maguire are at an early stage and Villa won't place a bid until they know the prognosis of Mings.
However, Villa have told United that they would be prepared to match and beat any other offers for Maguire should they make an offer. West Ham had a £30 million bid accepted by the Red Devils this week, which is a price that Villa are seemingly happy to pay.

Pavard bid rejected
Man Utd have seen a bid for Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard knocked back by the Bundesliga side, according to Bild, but the move remains a possibility as there is an agreement in place between the player and the Red Devils.
Pavard is seen as Erik ten Hag's ideal replacement for Maguire, who is set to leave the club amid interest from West Ham and Villa.
Furthermore, the France international is open to moving to Old Trafford as he continues to be utilised at right-back by Thomas Tuchel. Pavard wants to play at centre-back, a position in which Man Utd currently have Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Maguire as senior options.
Maguire to West Ham stalls
Amid interest from Aston Villa, West Ham's hopes of signing Harry Maguire has stalled due to issues over personal terms, according to The Sun.
As a result, the Hammers have reportedly now quickly turned their attention to Bayer Leverkusen defender Odilon Kossounou and are lining up a €35m move for the Bundesliga defender.
Van de Beek for Ajax loan?
Donny van de Beek has been heavily linked with a Manchester United exit this summer, but the recent links with former club Ajax will not please Erik ten Hag.
La Liga side Real Sociedad have been exploring a deal for the Dutchman in recent weeks, and have been considered to be his most likely destination, but Ajax have now entered the fray, according to The Sun.
Ajax are not blessed with money and this may make the rest of their summer plans extremely hard to complete.
Their lack of funds means they are considering submitting a loan offer for Van de Beek, with the idea of bringing the midfielder back to the club on a one-year loan deal after missing out on Champions League qualification.
The problem for Man Utd and Ten Hag is that they need to sell in order to fund a move for Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat. The Morocco international, who starred at the 2022 World Cup, is seen as the ideal midfield signing this summer to complement the addition of Mason Mount from Chelsea.
