Caicedo deal agreed! Romano reveals RECORD transfer offer ACCEPTED
The British transfer record is set to be broken this summer when Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo leaves for either Liverpool or Chelsea, with Fabrizio Romano revealing that the Anfield side have launched a British record move for the player.
Both clubs have had numerous bids for the Ecuador international knocked back this summer, but in a remarkable sequence of events overnight on Friday, Romano has detailed how Liverpool stand on the verge of a groundbreaking deal.
Jurgen Klopp’s side, who FootballTransfers exclusively revealed were still in the running to land the 21-year-old last month, are set to break the British transfer record, which was set in January when Chelsea signed Enzo Fernandez from Benfica for €121 million.

Liverpool have had a £110m (€127m) bid for Caicedo finally accepted by Brighton, who had been using Declan Rice’s move from West Ham United to Arsenal earlier this summer as the yardstick by which they were measuring the deal. Rice, though, only moved for an initial fee of €116m.
Romano reports: “Liverpool and Brighton are preparing all documents for Moisés Caicedo deal — agreement reached on £110m record British transfer after late night bid.
“2.29am UK time and Liverpool are now preparing all the documents of Moisés Caicedo deal to be fast and then avoid surprises later today. Liverpool want him to sign ASAP.
“Liverpool also booking medical today while Jurgen Klopp plans to speak to Caicedo as final steps of the deal.”

Chelsea outbid on Caicedo ahead of Thursday deadline
Chelsea had also made a late-night bid for Caicedo as Brighton set up a remarkable auction that ended on Thursday.
The Blues’ highest bid, though, was a £100m package.
Romano says: “Brighton’s board was clear: player to be sold by end of Thursday to the highest bidder.”
Liverpool have proven to be the club willing to pay the most money for Caicedo, and the player could even make his debut against Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday if the documents of the deal are lodged in time.
