Mount 'BIGGEST club' comment will leave Chelsea fans seething
Graeme Souness claimed that Mason Mount has taken a step up in the football world by trading in Chelseafor Manchester United.
The England midfielder moved to Old Trafford at the start of the summer window in a deal worth a reported £60 million, after almost two decades as part of the Blues set-up.
And according to former Liverpool and Rangers boss Souness, he will thrive in his new environment.

"I have always liked Mount, there is nothing to dislike about him. He has great technique and works his socks off," Souness noted in his Daily Mail column.
"He is also leaving a big club to join, arguably, the biggest club. But he has shown he can handle the expectation of playing for Chelsea and England and, if he takes to his new surroundings at Old Trafford, he could be a star."
How Mount can endear himself to new club
The 24-year-old has been a key part of the Chelsea midfield since breaking through into the first team in 2019, following a successful loan spell under Frank Lampard at Derby County.
Last season, however, he saw his potency in front of goal drop off sharply, scoring just three times in 35 outings after recording 13 strikes during 2021-22.
And according to Souness, he will have to rediscover that golden touch to become a success at his new club.
"He needs to get more goals playing that far up the field. And he can, because he’s cute enough in those areas," he added.
"His record at Chelsea was one in six, which is good, but the challenge is to make that even better. I think he will be a very good player for Manchester United."
Mount and United kick off their Premier League campaign on Monday with a clash at home against Wolves.
