ANOTHER TWIST! Liverpool HIJACK Chelsea and agree €70m Lavia move
The race to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia has taken another turn with news that Liverpool have now reached a €70 million (£60m) agreement for the 19-year-old.
The Reds have been chasing Lavia all summer but have been attempting to lower Southampton’s €58m (£50m) asking price for weeks.
However, Chelsea’s interest has forced them to take action and they have now submitted a bid worth €70m (£60m), which has been accepted by the Saints, according to The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg.

But, Jurgen Klopp’s side must now convince the player to join them over Chelsea. The report also states that Liverpool are the only club with an agreement to sign Lavia, meaning the Blues must increase their offer if they want to sign the midfielder.
It comes after news broke late last night that Lavia spent the weekend in London celebrating his imminent move to Chelsea, which was reported by transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri.
Tavolieri reported that a final announcement is expected soon, with Lavia wanting to join Chelsea. However, he also stated that “this transfer is crazy,” suggesting that another twist could take place.

Lavia was an unused substitute in Southampton’s Championship opener against Sheffield Wednesday and did not appear in the matchday squad for their thrilling 4-4 draw against Norwich this weekend.
Chelsea and Liverpool also battling for Caicedo
As well as fighting to sign Lavia, Chelsea and Liverpool are also locked in battle as they attempt to land Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.
Klopp’s side had a €127m (£111m) bid for the Ecuadorian accepted by Brighton last week, but the player only wants to join Chelsea and is now expected to sign for the west London club after an agreement was reached last night (13 August).
Caicedo is set to undergo his Chelsea medical today and will be unveiled in the coming hours, as per David Ornstein.
